The Grand Library is a magical place with stunning, perfectly organized shelves, plush lounges that always seem to materialize right when you need one, and a barista right around each corner. More importantly, however, it is a creative space meant to encourage you to feel safe in posting in roleplays with others or in writing original solo works. We can't wait to see what you are going to post next!
As the definition of what "Roleplay" is has changed over the years, we do feel it necessary to ensure we are all on the same page regarding a standard of quality. The basis for this standard is centered around a desire to provide the best experience possible for our community, not to enforce some kind of arbitrary grammatical expectations or to limit your creativity. The aforementioned goal of making the Grand Library a safe and free creative environment is at the forefront of our minds in all we do here.

Standards of Quality

- All roleplay must be conducted in a paragraph or semi-paragraph format. What this means is far simpler than some would have you believe: Your posts and replies must contain a complete paragraph or several paragraphs, without exception. Posting a single line of dialogue and one line of description will not be permitted here. If you aren't sure what this looks like, please take a look at any of my personal posts in the Grand Library and you'll see.
- We expect all our writers to do their best when it comes to grammar, word choices, and overall syntax. That said, no one here will berate or insult you for not being as skilled as some of the more experienced writers in our community. On the contrary, you've come to the exact right place if you are looking to improve your skills. Not a single one of us here are perfect, we are all using RP as a means to continue to improve our own writing abilities. The Best Practice you can employ while writing on this site is to try and find Roleplays that more closely match with your comfort or current skill level. Roleplays for newer writers will be accessible in the Grand Library for anyone who is excited to join others for a thread but lack the confidence to join something more advanced.
- For stories or works posted on the solo boards, the Standard of Quality is more of a set of guidelines. The work must be original to you, be your best attempt at writing based on your current skill level, and something you are willing to share publicly online. Let loose, have some fun, and write something! We encourage freedom of expression, just so long as any graphic sexual content goes in the proper board. A personal recommendation though would be to not post anything containing stories, characters, or anything else you intend to publish. We don't intend to make these boards "Secret", so post that kind of content at your own risk. The solo writing boards are meant for you to write stories and characters just for us or to work on your own skills, these boards are not intended to be a place for you to post excerpts for us to judge.
