You have questions, we'd wager. Burning questions blazing a trail throughout your conscious mind and stealing your focus: What is this place? How does it work? Can I just roleplay now, please? This thread will cover the basics, but as always you are invited to ask questions in the discord, the appropriate places here on the site, or by personally messaging yours truly. Let's begin!
The Grand Library
The Grand Library is this site's all-purpose general roleplay and writing category! Within the various boards you'll find the usual genres for writing within that you are likely accustomed to seeing. If you are new to roleplay, these genres are fairly representative of what you might find in any fiction section including Fantasy, Science Fiction, Adult (18+), Horror, Historical, Contemporary, and Fan-based. Each board contains the primary place for posting Roleplay threads, as well as a subcategory for Out of Character, Thread Recruitment, and Solo Works. Each of these have their own rules posted, so we won't list them here, but please read through the remainder of this thread before you attempt to post or reply anywhere in this area. Thanks!

The general rules for the Grand Library are as follows:
- DO NOT jump into a roleplay without first checking the OOC board to ensure the thread is open to new players. If the thread is open to new players, we require that you make contact with the thread-starter/manager of the RP before joining in unless the OOC thread states otherwise.
- NO SPAM or OFFTOPIC nonsense will be tolerated here. We have a seriously low tolerance for this, believe me.
- Keep the various genres and categories where they belong. Hey, we get it. Sometimes your science fiction looks a little more like a swords and sorcery fantasy (looking at you, Star Wars!) and it can be difficult to classify. Talk with a moderator or admin if you are uncertain.
- Solo Works are highly encouraged, but, in keeping with the notion of everything having its own place and to protect our younger members or those who do not wish to view it, if your story or other work contains mature sexual content then you are only permitted to post it in the 18+ area of the Library.
- Finally, everything you'll find within these threads is posted with the understanding that it'll be available for public viewing at all times. If you'd like to add your own work to these stunning shelves, you must be willing to accept that understanding. If you'd like your work to be seen by only specific people, then this is not the place to put it.
